RTC Hosts Korean Visitors To Discuss Assistive Technology

Group photoGlen White, Director of the RTC/IL, hosted three visitors from South Korea who came to learn how the U.S. provides assistive technology for people with disabilities.

On November 19, 2010, Dr. White was joined by Dr. Basil Kessler, Executive Director of the Kansas Assistive Technology Cooperative, two Kansas assistive technology colleagues from Wichita, Cindy Jones and Jordyn Birkes, and Korean delegates Sehyun Nam, Namhee Yun, and Dr. Jinyong Kong. (Jones and Birkes participated by SKYPE videoconference.)

The Assistive Technology for Kansans Project is coordinated by the Kansas University Center on Disabilities at Parsons. The ATK project is designed to be accountable to the consumers with disabilities that it serves and also meet federal program guidelines for states that provide assistive technology.
