Ken is a student with a learning disability. Over the years, he has developed a number of good strategies that helped him organize his materials and complete assignments on time. He has always excelled in English classes but this semester he needs to complete his Math requirements. Math has always been very difficult for him, which is why he has waited so long to take the course. His learning disability causes him to be easily distracted when there is a lot of noise or movement in the room, and he usually needs twice as long as other students to finish each problem.

  • What is the problem(s) this student is facing?
  • What would be an appropriate accommodation?
  • What would be an appropriate second choice for the accommodation?
